In a much-anticipated box office showdown, Salaar has claimed the title of the biggest opener of 2023. Initially, there were reports of a potential clash, with Prashanth Neel's film considering a release postponement due to uneven screen distribution compared to Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki. However, PVR later confirmed the planned release, suggesting an equitable resolution.

Early estimates now reveal that Salaar not only outperformed Shah Rukh Khan's latest release but also surpassed the year's highest-grossing film, Jawan. With an impressive opening day collection of 95 crores in India, Salaar has outshone Dunki, which amassed Rs 30 crores on its debut. Furthermore, Salaar's day 1 box office collection has exceeded Jawan, which secured Rs 75 crores on its initial day.
